Finally a good Chinese takeout joint. I simply ordered a Kung Pao Shrimp, Veggie Lo Mein, and eggrolls to go. So nice to get some Kung in the Pao....this place is not afraid of spice, like many of the others trying to conform to us Americans. We want spice people!! At least I do! The portions were triple, so you could simply order one dish and feed two people. I was very pleased with the price and portion size. This place tops Hunan (in Dorsey) by far!!! I am super happy to locate good takeout! Now.subtracting a star simply due to the dining area..being blah...plain..nothing fancy. I doubt you would want to dine in, so plan on carrying out, drinking your beer/wine at home, and kick back with some chopsticks!

This has always been my favorite chinese restaurant! I have been going here since I was little and they remember me everytime I come in and ask about my family. The food is deliciousssssss.... I cannot find another chinese place that can get even close to theirs. I have been there with many coworkers and friends and they all rave about it. My wife and I were at a medical appointment in the area and decided to try China Village based on the great Yelp reviews. I don't share the level of enthusiasm of most writers. Yes, the place is a small family restaurant, and yes, the decor and seating are very basic - but I don't patronize establishments to meet the owners or relish the decor a schmanzy dining room. I want good food. China Village was OK; not bad, but also not great. The sesame chicken combo was better than average, with a good-sized portion. The egg drop soup tasted like a watery yolk, and the egg roll was a bit over cooked and with a somewhat flavorless filling. The hot and sour soup was mild, and my Triple Threat was a huge portion, but also low on flavor. The staff was friendly and the overall experience mediocre. My measure of a good restaurant: would I go out of my way to return? Nope.

I've been going to China Village restaurant for years, the service is prompt and efficient. They do a great business for carry-out, I always pick up the carry-out order and have never tried the delivery service. I usually order the chicken and broccoli, beef & broccoli, or pork and they always have been very good. My wife likes their Happy Meal. I've eaten once in the restaurant, again good service and food.

For an American Chinese take out combo place - 4 stars. I usually order a combination platter that consists of Orange, Sesame, Kung Pao, or General Tso's chicken, white rice, egg roll, soup. Pretty simple. The chicken dishes have all been good. The chicken is not stringy and actually can be reheated and eaten the next day without losing a lot of meat integrity. Flavors are on the mild side, but I can let that slide as long as the meat is tender. Egg roll -- standard and similar to most Chinese places. White rice -- actually cooked properly. Some places they over cook their rice and it is like eating white plastic. Hot n Sour soup -- flavor is just ok (not very hot), but they don't gyp you on ingredients. Also it is not loaded with salt. Fried dumplings were decent. Even for a combination platter, the portions are huge. 2 combination platters will easily cover a family of 4. Delivery is timely. Not the best American Chinese I've had, but probably the best near my house.

Ordered delivery the other day. Lady on the phone said they were busy so it would be 45 minutes. No problem. After an hour, I called. She said the driver was on his way. After an hour and fifteen minutes, I called again. She called the driver and told me he'd be there any minute- and then told me I live too far away. After an hour and a half, I called and canceled the order. Again, I was told I live too far away. I live 3.5 miles from them. And if that truly is out of their delivery area, perhaps they should figure that out before they accept an order. Never again.

Absolutely the worst chinese food I have ever had! Kung pao chicken was fried pieces of gristly meat with tasteless sauce. Ordered two egg rolls and expected the usual food service variety but these were even less than tasteless. Doubt there is anyone working there in the kitchen who knows anything about cooking chinese food. Still on a quest for a good Maryland chinese restaurant, but losing hope.....

This is actually the 2nd time i've been here. The first time was about 7 years ago, and the 2nd time was yesterday. unfortunately, the feeling was the same the 2nd time around. I ordered two chicken dishes: rainbow chicken and spicy shredded chicken with peas and carrots. The rainbow chicken was supposed to have shitake mushrooms, red and green bell peppers and chicken. It had a lot of chicken (this a was good), but the bell peppesr and shitake were lacking. The flavor was light, which isn't a bad thing, but the bell peppers did not seem cooked well, and the shitakes had little flavor. The spciy shredded chicken was different though. It was not spicy and the peas and carrots were frozen vegetables!!! Also, the flavor was identical to the rainbow chicken, except with frozen vegetables. I found this to be quite embarrassing for the restaurant. I would not want frozen carrots (I can understand peas) in my food. It was an unpleasant experience. I'm willing to give this place one more try, and if things don't go well that time, no more for me.

Excellent food. Ordered take-out from here on a Friday night for the family: sweet and sour chicken, Hunan duck, beef lo mein, and vegetable dumplings. All of the food was excellent - relatively light (i.e. not too greasy and certainly not drenched in sauce) and flavorful. We also appreciated that the sweet and sour chicken was lightly fried up and kept separate from the sauce, allowing us to sauce it up how we liked it and making it nice and crispy and not soggy even when I was late to pick it up. The place was a little tricky to find if not paying attention, but it's in the shopping center between Mike's Music/Dunkin Donuts and the pharmacy and T-bonz, next to the 7-11. It just says Chinese Restaurant on the road sign. Got a peek at the interior; it was pretty bare-bones inside the actual restaurant, but will definitely be ordering from there again, perhaps even dining in so I can try a few other things on a whim.

My wife and I are new in the area and tried China Village out. They were very busy, so service was understandably a little slow. However, the staff was very attentive, and the food was very fresh. The beef with garlic could have used a little more garlic, but it wasn't deficient enough to mark them down for it. Overall, we'll probably be going back there frequently.

Every dish is great. The owners are kind and good. Once I paid the bill for a large party, via credit card, and didn't notice they had already added gratuity. So I added 20%. A couple days later I checked my credit card statement and saw that they had never submitted the additional tip. They correctly realized that I had overlooked the fact that gratuity had already been added. China Village does more takeout business than sit-down business and thus the restaurant doesn't have the greatest atmosphere. People are constantly coming and going. That's my only reason for giving four stars instead of five.

Amazing Food! My family and I have been eating China Village carry out/delivery for about 10 years now. Naturally we would have had a complaint or two in a 10 year span. Nope! Every meal has been incredible. I'm talking about twice a month for TEN YEARS! My favorites are the general tsao chicken, pancake roll with string beans, and the kung pao chicken.
